Update 1: 31/10/18

Today we are featuring guest writer Christina Klein! Here she is explaining the process the group went through to create our final logo.

Logo Evolution by Christina Klein - Edited by Toby
The F24 RCC logo evolution started on a simple word doc in black and white, but we realised early on we had to do some homework & begin learning more advanced design programs if we wanted to produce anything worthy. So because of this club some of the students were prompted early to learn how to use Photoshop, Illustrator and CAD CAM.
We researched which logos have been a success historically and discussed what worked well and what didn’t – which ones we may like to be associated with etc.  The students were getting well and truly immersed in all things brand related and what it takes to build a brand.
Our logo was established with a lot group effort – Some were designing, some were giving their reactions & preferences – things like which colours & fonts evoked which emotions and what we as a club wanted our logo to look like.  A lot of these lessons were about having to hear constructive criticism and make the necessary amendments according while keeping their creative ideas pouring out; an important experience to gain for the real world.
David Stickley from year 7 was our lead designer collaborating with the very talented media studies sixth former, Jordan Steeds, in the beginning stages.  It was great having the various years working so well together – taking on leadership roles and passing the baton the younger students to continue work  independently.
Martyn Chatfield, from Year 8 was heavily leading the videos with the use of his professional personal equipment. Some people just knew where they wanted to work within the club and others have been having the chance to explore areas where they had no idea they’d enjoy it & be so great at it.

In later weeks they experimented creating posters incorporating the official logo for building awareness of our project as well as various small fund raising attempts.  We’ve had a lot fun, but a lot of hard work has gone into creating this logo, to make it appeal to our target audience.

Seren has been busy interviewing people. Here is what she has made.

Milly – Merchandise

Milly is currently working on prototype stickers. The stickers will be for personalising and customising anything from books to phone cases. The stickers will include our logo in the infamous red and black combo. This is our second form of merch, Keyrings being first. The black of the stickers will be printed first and after the bred of the stickers will overlay it, and we might start to add various other colours if all goes well. As well as the stickers she is working on a collage to keep around school site and get people interested in what we are doing.
David – Media
David is currently helping the merch team by putting logos onto the keyrings and our soon to come magnets. The keyrings and magnets are going through lots of different designs and forms, at the beginning we looked at having the keyrings as squares but we decided against that idea and looked at circular ones. We liked them so we started trying to sell them but we are currently debating on having the base for the keyrings and magnets to be a wheel.
 Ruby – Cockpit
Ruby guy and the others in the cockpit team are working on the harness for the car. The harness plays a major part for the car as it keeps the driver safe. The harness keeps the driver from falling out, like a seatbelt.
Finally...
The bodywork team has just received a delivery of foam and is working hard to attach and shape the body of the car.

That's the update for this week, let's hope these get more regular!
